If not the year of the Linux Desktop, then it’s certainly the year of the Desktop Ricers. This screenshot is 22 years ago, when transparent terminals were the new hotness (and I was very proud of my dual processor Athlon MP).
Now we have hyprland, quickshell and… DHH.
I’ve been so impressed with DHH pushing linux through Omarchy. When he raised $10m and donated to Vaxry and Quickshell I decided to ditch my 400+ day arch install and use Omarchy, and maybe even partipate in the community :)
